I am posting more about economics and politics than healing or so it seems. The reality is that I believe that you cannot be truly healthy or balanced in an unhealthy and unbalanced society. Our societies throughout the world are unhealthy and imbalanced and are getting more so all the time. We need to face that truth and explore what is causing it. To not address economic and political problems would be to deny the fundamentally toxic effects unfair and repressive economic and political forces have on human beings. By that I mean when people all over the world either have no jobs or jobs that pay very little relative to their needs and can barely feed, cloth and shelter themselves or their families the medical consequences compounded by the stress levels create or exasperate the majority of the physical and psychological problems we all suffer from in one form or another. Couple this with repressive governments and manipulated and controlled media and you have a situation where physical and mental health are impossible for the vast majority of people.
So what is to be done? I wish I knew. But for starts we can begin to stop living in denial about our societies and their effects on us and our families and start exploring ways we can change things for the better.
We need to pull or heads out of the complacent and fear avoiding sands and face the reality of what is happening to all of us. If you were once radically active but are now living comfortable lives it is time to stop living in your past glories and do more now to help stop the inevitable train wreck ahead. One thing we can do is to help create more alternative media. We need to be alternative media. We need to talk honestly and openly with our friends, neighbors, and strangers in public dialogues. We need to face the truth about what is happening to our families, our societies and our world as a result of the corrupt and amoral casino capitalist societies that dominate our lives. We cannot depend on the media or the politicians to help us. We need to educate and help ourselves and each other. If economist like Paul Krugman are right we are headed for even more dangerous times that we are living through now. The near future could very will bring longer lasting economic hardships for more people and more political repression. The time to prepare for both is growing shorter with every passing day.

Bubble Bath - By Chrystia Freeland | Foreign Policy
To read the article click the title.
It is in the nature and structure of Capitalism that booms will always lead sooner or later to busts and when that happens the majority of people who are not wealthy will be hurt the most. The quote from the following article sums it up.
"The same human instinct that prompts us to look for villains again has us looking for saviors. That's a worrying impulse: Our problems were systemic -- and our solutions must be, too."
We need to replace Capitalism with a more equitable and sane way of sharing the wealth of this planet with ALL the people of the world. Socialism may not be the answer but Capitalism is clearly not the answer either.

Extreme Measures: Arming the Zealotocracy, Serving the Elite
Here is a good explanation of how the elites use religion and faith of the poor and working people to protect and preserve their rule here and around the world.

JFK told us the TRUTH.
This is the kind of speech I wish Obama would give and mean. The person who posted it claims Kennedy was talking about the Fed but that is BS. Kennedy was speaking about Communism, that is, Russia and China. While Kennedy was talking about Communism in one place in the speech it could just as easily be used to talk abo...ut the Oligarchies. What he said about the news media and it's relationship to the goverment and the people is more true today than it was in Kennedy's day.
