I just learned today that my friend and teacher Mr. Hilton K Tam died on May 11, 2011. I am in deep mourning and I write this with tears in my eyes and my heart. I love Mr. Tam more than words can say and am grieving at his passing. Meeting him and experiencing his energy and extraordinary abilities and becoming his student changed my life. Mr. Tam introduced me to the wonders of chi kung and acted as a trusted guide and teacher for many years and through many adventures. He was always there when I needed him. Mr. Tam helped people in so many incredible ways. He was a master herbalist and chi healer who helped innumerable people through all kinds of healing crises. He was a priest in a Chinese mystical order and maintained a beautiful temple in Cleveland. My, my mother and I and many of our friends were initiated into the order and are very thankful to him for that. Mr. Tam was a martial arts master who had many grateful students. He was my teacher and friend and because of him I was able to understand and experience the reality that we human beings are not just material creatures but are energy beings inseparable from the energy of what the scientist might call the Unified Field and the mystics call the ONE. Mr. Tam’s journey from material existence leaves a void for me that cannot be filled. I am not crying for his transition, I am crying because I miss him and love him. Mr. Tam, I thank you and love you. My hope is that we meet again when I make my transition. I bow to you with great respect and love until then. Namaste.

Chinese symbol for grief, mourning, pity, sorrow.

All ancient books which have once been called sacred by man, will have their lasting place in the history of mankind, and those who possess the courage, the perseverance, and the self-denial of the true miner, and of the true scholar, will find even in the darkest and dustiest shafts what they are seeking for,--real nuggets of thought, and precious jewels of faith and hope. -- Max Müller, Introduction to the Upanishads Vol. II.
