Standing naked in the face of the moment is sometimes what is needed for health. We have no guarantee of what the next second will bring. We have our hopes and our fears and general and particular expectation but really the next second arrives unique. Because the next second is probable dose not mean it is inevitable. When expectations are confirmed we sometimes fall into believing that life is much safer and predictable than it truly is. And then BOOM shit hits the fan. We live on a razor sharp edge and it is foolish and dangerous to pretend other wise. One day soon death will call us out and we will go. We want security and safety when there is none, no matter what our minds tell us. There is only now and the the next now. You want me to say that there is something you can do to make things other than they are beyond the delusion or understanding. There is nothing I can tell you. I raise my glass of Laphromaig whiskey in appreciation of that which I meet each unique second. I say to each moment, I need no action to be worthy of you. You need no action to be worthy of me. We dance together.
I say this to you my student/teacher/brother. You are of the Hawk and Crow People now. The Hawk and the Crow fly with you, now and forever. I salute you my brother. I salute your courage and determination. Congratulations. I celebrate and sing this song. My student/warrior/friend is out of the hospital and eating. His story can be found in my blog sections "When Pain Comes Try This." and "You Can Cower In The Corner Or You Can Stand And Fight." When he was faced with his own fear and pain and uncertainty he chose to stand and fight. When you must chose, chose to stand and fight. Remember we are never alone. Remember that and smile. He has passed one of his initiations with honor and pride. Many others are doing the same even as you read these words. Let all the warriors of the Heaven and the Earth who stand and fight with honor and determination give you courage and strength when you need it most. Remember, you are not alone and smile. A new adventure now opens to...
