Chi Kung means energy cultivation by way of determined long-term creative effort and practice. Chi Kung is an art and a science and cannot be understood without spending a lot of quality time doing it. You can read about it. You can watch countless videos and even take some classes. You can even do a little practice here and there for short periods of time to get a few hints about possibilities inherent in the cultivation of it. You can even know it theoretically enough to allow you to talk about it and even sound knowledgeable. But you won't really have a clue until you practice some form of it for a long time. How long? It depends on you. My best advice is to pick a form and commit to practicing it for a half hour twice a day for one hundred days.
If you do one hundred days of sincere practice of a chi kung form I am confident that you will have more than enough experiences to understand some of the first few feet of the Ocean of Chi Kung. And you will be, I am sure, tantalized by the amazing possibilities of what might lay deeper and further into that Mystery. Chi Kung is basically just another door leading from the supposed known into the greater Unknown, But it is one of the most incredible doors into the Mystery that I have ever opened and walked through.
